Democrats chairman Yair Golan is reportedly working to reserve a spot on his party’s Knesset slate for Einav Zangauker, the mother of captivity survivor Matan Zangauker.

Zangauker announced several months ago that she intended to enter politics, though she did not say at the time which party she would join.

“I don’t know where I’ll be in the coming election campaign, but what is certain is that there still needs to be a fight here,” she said when announcing the move.

She also hinted that she wanted a role in national decision-making.

“I would like to be among the decision-makers in the country, but I need one thing from all the players on the field: to stop looking at their egos and look more at the people in the audience,” she said.

According to Israel Hayom, Golan is seeking to bring Zangauker into the Democrats, which he leads.

The party said in response that it was not dealing with reserved slots until after its primaries.

Zangauker did not immediately comment on the report.
