The video appears to contradict Beitar Jerusalem’s initial statement, which claimed the firework was launched from outside the stadium. Police arrested the suspects during the match. Authorities suspect the group smuggled in hundreds of flares and pyrotechnic devices, including the two fireworks responsible for the injury. A request to extend their detention is expected to be filed today.

The injured child, Nathan Zohar, had attended the game with his family. His mother, Adele Zohar, recounted the frightening moments to Kan News: “We were there with the whole family. We came from the south for a children’s experience. Flashes and fireworks started, and one hit Nathan. Just before it did, I told my brother they were going to hit us. I heard screaming and saw the firework go into his shirt. We took it off and cried for help. They evacuated him quickly to the hospital. I have no complaint against the club itself, but there is a handful of criminals ruining it for everyone. We need to deal with them once and for all. Stop this madness. We won’t return to the stadium until it’s addressed.”

Following the incident, the match was halted by police order after just 15 minutes of play. After a joint assessment by police commanders and event organizers, the match was eventually resumed.
