The city of Eilat was put on high alert this evening after a hostile aircraft alert was sounded, triggered by a projectile launched from Yemen by the Houthis. Shortly after the alert, reports surfaced of an impact in the city, with security forces and emergency services being dispatched to the scene.

According to initial reports, the projectile, believed to be an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), fell in the Eilat area, causing a fire at a local hotel. Video footage from the scene shows residents running for cover as the aircraft appears to dive toward its target. While property damage has been reported, Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed that there have been no reports of casualties from the incident.

In response to the event, Eilat District police forces rushed to the area to secure the scene. A police spokesperson stated that bomb disposal experts are currently working to determine if the debris is from an interceptor missile or from the hostile projectile itself.

The police have issued a strong warning to the public, urging residents to obey safety instructions and stay away from the site of the impact. The statement also cautioned against approaching or touching any rocket debris, as such items may contain explosives, and instructed residents to report any findings immediately to the police hotline at 100.

This incident marks the latest in a series of attacks on Israel by the Houthi movement in Yemen, which has repeatedly launched missiles and drones toward the country. Security forces continue their work to neutralize any remaining threats and to ensure the safety of the public in the area.
