"Journalist" by day, Hamas by night
IDF eliminates “journalist” who filmed October 7 tank attack
The Hamas-affiliated operative, Hassan Aslih, was struck in Khan Yunis, where he had taken shelter inside the Nasser hospital compound.

In a precise overnight operation last night (Tuesday) in the Gaza Strip, in the Khan Younis area, the Gazan "journalist" Hassan Aslih, who filmed himself during the events of October 7 next to the burning tank, was eliminated, according to a report in Arabic media outlets.
The IDF targeted and eliminated senior Hamas operatives who were using the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis as a command and control center, according to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.
The strike focused on a section of the hospital compound exploited by terrorists to coordinate attacks against both Israeli civilians and IDF personnel. Among those previously known to operate from the site was Ismail Barhoum, Hamas’ former head of finances and institutions in Gaza, and the successor to the head of the Hamas government in the Strip, who was eliminated in a targeted strike in March.
“Senior Hamas officials continue to exploit the hospital for terrorist activity, demonstrating their cynical and brutal disregard for human life by embedding themselves within civilian infrastructure,” the statement read.
The IDF emphasized that extensive precautions were taken to avoid civilian harm, including aerial surveillance, the use of precise intelligence, and carefully selected munitions.
“The IDF and ISA remain committed to acting against the Hamas terrorist organization to protect Israeli civilians,” the statement concluded.
