Israeli forces operating in the Gaza Strip today eliminated a Hamas terrorist who attempted to ambush troops while using a blanket as cover, according to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson.
Fighters from the Givati Reconnaissance Unit (Sayeret Givati) quickly identified the armed operative approaching their position. The terrorist, who was carrying a weapon and grenades, was reportedly attempting to conceal himself by hiding under a blanket as he moved toward the military post.
"Immediately after the identification, the soldiers opened fire and neutralized the terrorist," the IDF reported. No injuries were sustained by the Israeli forces.
Air Force Strikes Hit Over 160 Targets
Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has maintained its intensive campaign, striking over 160 terror targets across the Gaza Strip. The targets included armed terrorists, weapon storage facilities, observation posts, and other terrorist infrastructure.
The IDF Spokesperson affirmed that forces under the Southern Command will
"continue to operate with force and determination against the terror organizations in the Strip."
