In a swift series of operations, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have eliminated over 20 terrorists and arrested eight others who were barricaded in an underground terror tunnel in Rafah over the past week, according to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson.
Hours after reports of an additional airstrike targeting six terrorists, the IDF published compelling footage capturing the moments of detection and engagement as terrorists emerged from the tunnel and attempted to flee.
The video highlights the precision strikes aimed at neutralizing the threats.
Forces from the Nahal Brigade's combat team rapidly moved in to scan a building in the strike zone. Inside, they identified one terrorist already taken out by the aerial bombardment, along with three more armed individuals.
"Upon spotting the terrorists, the forces opened fire at close range and eliminated them," the IDF statement detailed. "Additionally, the forces detained two more terrorists present in the structure."
The IDF emphasized that its troops, under Southern Command, remain deployed in the area in line with operational agreements and will continue efforts to neutralize any immediate dangers.
One of the captured terrorists explained, "Hamas deserted us. They left us without food and water. They stopped contacting us."
