An Iranian ballistic missile struck central Israel on Monday, killing one person and wounding at least two others seriously, as rescue forces identified no fewer than six impact sites across the region.

The fatality was a Chinese construction worker, approximately 40 years old, who was killed at a building site in Yehud. A second foreign worker of similar age was evacuated to hospital in serious condition.

Rescue personnel from Ichud Hatzalah confirmed the details. Paramedic Yaron Shiff and medic Mordechai Steiner stated that the worker died at the scene due to the severity of shrapnel wounds sustained. A second worker at the site was treated on the spot before being evacuated in serious condition.

The missile is believed to be a splinter-type warhead — a model designed to fragment mid-air and scatter across multiple impact zones, maximizing casualties and challenging Israel's air defense systems. Six separate impact sites were identified across the greater central region, including in Yehud and Or Yehuda.

Iranian forces are assessed to have again deliberately employed this munition type against populated areas in an effort to overwhelm interception systems and increase the likelihood of casualties on the ground.
