A five-month-old baby girl has died after losing consciousness at a private daycare in Jerusalem. Despite desperate resuscitation efforts by United Hatzalah and MDA teams, the infant was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A five-month-old baby girl passed away on Sunday afternoon after losing consciousness while under the care of a private babysitter in Jerusalem.
Emergency responders were called to the scene following reports that the infant was unresponsive. Despite extensive resuscitation efforts by paramedics and medical teams at the hospital, doctors were forced to pronounce her dead.
Medics and paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) and United Hatzalah arrived at the private daycare facility to find the infant in critical condition.
"We performed advanced resuscitation operations on the toddler," said Yosef Gotthold and Eli Roth, United Hatzalah medics. "She was evacuated to the hospital in critical condition while CPR efforts continued throughout the journey."
Due to the distressing nature of the incident, United Hatzalah also dispatched its Hosen Unit (Psychological First Aid Unit) to provide emotional support to those at the scene.
The Israel Police have opened an official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the infant's death.
"Police officers arrived at the scene, began collecting evidence, and are taking a statement from the caregiver to clarify the circumstances of the case," a police spokesperson said in a statement. At this stage, authorities are investigating whether the death was caused by a medical sudden event or other factors related to the care environment.
