Police are conducting an extensive manhunt for a driver who struck a protester at the entrance to Jerusalem on Wednesday afternoon and immediately fled the scene.

The hit-and-run incident occurred near the Chords Bridge (Gesher HaMeitarim) during a demonstration in support of combat veterans suffering from PTSD (Halumei Krav).

According to witnesses and video footage from the scene, the vehicle hit a demonstrator and, instead of stopping to render aid, continued driving and escaped the area.

"Is this becoming the norm?" witnesses asked, describing the chaotic moments after the impact. Footage showed the victim lying on the pavement as a crowd gathered around him to offer help before emergency services arrived.

United Hatzalah medical teams reported treating four pedestrians at the scene, all approximately 35 years old.

"We provided medical treatment to four pedestrians who, according to passersby, were hit by a vehicle during the demonstration," the organization stated. All four were evacuated to area hospitals in light condition.

The Israel Police confirmed the details: "A short time ago, during a protest taking place at the Chords Bridge at the entrance to Jerusalem, a demonstrator was hit by a vehicle that continued driving. Police forces are conducting scans to locate the offending driver."
