Relatives of several individuals who were kidnapped or killed during the October 7 Hamas attack submitted a formal complaint Tuesday to Israel's Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The complaint centers on a report published earlier in the day by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which claimed that Netanyahu received a warning from the president of the United Arab Emirates before October 7. According to the report, the UAE leader alerted Netanyahu that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was planning "something big."
Danny Elgarat, whose brother Yitzhak Elgarat was killed in the attack, wrote: "We, Danny Elgarat, brother of Yitzhak Elgarat of blessed memory, Haim Hyman, father of Inbar Hyman of blessed memory, and Tami Baruch, mother of Idan Baruch of blessed memory and Sahar Baruch of blessed memory, are filing a complaint with the Attorney General."
"If Netanyahu received a warning before October 7 about Sinwar's intention to attack and did not pass it on to security officials, this must be investigated," Elgarat continued. "Anyone who identifies with this and wants to join the complaint should write in the comments: 'I join.' We all deserve to know the truth."
