During a visit to the Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Company (EAPC) installations in Ashkelon on Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a forceful statement on Israel’s war goals and economic ambitions. Accompanied by Energy Minister Eli Cohen, Minister Dudi Amsalem, and Ashkelon Mayor Tomer Glam, Netanyahu received a comprehensive briefing from EAPC CEO Amit Shaked.
He praised Israel’s energy sector for its performance during Operation "Rising Lion" and emphasized the country's growing energy capabilities:
“We are going to expand and strengthen Israel’s energy potential. We have enormous capabilities.”
Netanyahu outlined the financial significance of Israel’s gas resources:
“The projected revenue from natural gas alone over the next decade is close to NIS 300 billion. There were critics who claimed it would destroy Israel’s economy. It didn’t. It’s building Israel’s economy.”
