Details emerge
Shark attack victim identified as 40-Year-Old Petah Tikva man, a "shark enthusiast"
The victim’s family, still in shock, has requested his name be withheld as authorities warn of the dangers still lurking in the search zone.

Details have emerged regarding the victim of the horrifying shark attack off the coast of Hadera. The victim is a 40-year-old man from Petah Tikva, married and a father of children - a self-described shark enthusiast, who was fishing near the mouth of the Hadera River after work when he was pulled under by the predator. The family prefers not to publish his name this morning as well.
The search is still underway for the remains of the victim. The police – with the assistance of the Fire Brigade, MDA, Zaka, the Nature and Parks Authority, the Diving Authority and the Hadera Municipality – are using marine police boats and jet skis, drones, underwater GoPro cameras and metal detectors for scans along the coast.
There are credible eyewitness testimonies that saw the man being devoured by the sharks. The search is for his remains, if there are any, because the sharks were seen yesterday and are still seen now when they also scan. For this reason, divers are also prevented from being disembarked into the water, and searches at sea are limited to searches from boats.
According to testimonies collected, the prey victim used to come to the place because he is a shark lover. He even informed beachgoers that he went in to "splash around" with the same sharks. Some of the beachgoers in Hadera who documented the incident did so as well.
