A highly volatile security situation unfolded across central Israel when an armed terrorist launched a series of consecutive shooting attacks, leaving one individual dead and six others sustaining severe injuries. The coordinated violence began around 10:30 AM when the terrorist, identified as twenty-one-year-old Tayibe resident Omar Yassin, departed his home in a stolen silver Toyota sedan. The gunman drove rapidly toward nearby civilian centers, opening fire at multiple distinct locations along a major commuter corridor.

The first active shooter scene developed at a commercial gas station located near the entrances of Kochav Yair and Tzur Yigal, where the suspect discharged a weapon from inside his vehicle into a crowd of bystanders. The sudden gunfire wounded two citizens before the attacker sped away from the area, heading down Route 5533 toward the community of Tzur Yitzhak. Upon arrival, the gunman fired directly at a manned security post, wounding a guard in the arm before continuing his escape toward Tzur Natan.

The rampage reached its fatal apex along the access road leading to the community of Sal'it, where the gunman pulled alongside a private vehicle and fired multiple rounds into the cabin, killing a thirty-five-year-old male driver instantly. The suspect then approached the main entrance gate of Sal'it and attempted to breach the perimeter while firing at the security shack. The local civilian security chief recognized the immediate threat, drew his personal weapon, and returned fire, forcing the assailant to abandon the perimeter and flee into the open fields.

A massive deployment of police units and military assets swarmed the region, utilizing aerial surveillance to track the escape vehicle through the rural terrain located between Tzur Natan and Tayibe. Security forces successfully cornered the suspect near the local Tayibe quarries, engaging in a brief exchange of gunfire that resulted in the neutralization of the shooter. Police Commissioner Danny Levi arrived at the scene shortly thereafter, confirming that the attacker acted alone and possessed a minor criminal record, prompting immediate raids on his family residence.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the location to offer condolences to the family of the fallen individual, praising the rapid response of the local security chief and the tactical units who brought the incident to a close. Following the active threat, transportation authorities closed several major routes, including Highway 557 and Highway 57, to allow forensic teams to examine the multiple crime scenes and ensure no secondary hazards remained in the area.
