Israel: "We're ready for Iran"
Israeli Military Source: Israel Prepared for Potential Iranian Response
An Israeli military source informed CNN that the country is currently at a "high level of readiness" for a potential response from Iran, while still evaluating the Iranian decision-making process regarding retaliation. The source emphasized that Israel is closely monitoring the situation to determine the timing and nature of any possible actions from Iran.

The source noted that recent Israeli strikes on Iranian missile production facilities and air defense systems have "created a dilemma for Tehran," significantly diminishing its ability to both strike back at Israel and defend against future Israeli attacks.
These statements come in light of reports indicating that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has directed the Supreme National Security Council to prepare for a potential strike against Israel. According to a report from The New York Times, Khamenei's decision followed a comprehensive assessment by senior military officials on the damage inflicted on Iran's missile production and air defense capabilities, as well as critical energy infrastructure and a key southern port.
Additionally, a high-ranking source indicated to CNN that Iran is expected to retaliate against Israel soon, possibly before the upcoming U.S. presidential election next Tuesday. The source suggested that Iran's response to recent Israeli airstrikes on its military assets will be significant.
In response to the situation, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre assured reporters that the United States would stand by Israel in the event of an Iranian attack. On Thursday, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, reiterating that the United States is fully prepared to defend U.S. personnel, Israel, and regional partners against threats from Iran and its proxy groups.
