Netanyahu back at the top, All thanks to Trump
NEW POLL REVEALS: Support for Netanyahu Soars Following Trump’s Gaza Plan
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition bloc has seen a notable surge in support following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of his Gaza takeover plan. According to a recent survey published by Maariv, Netanyahu's coalition now holds 53 seats, with the Likud party gaining three additional seats.

The poll, conducted by Lazar Research in collaboration with Panel4All, was released after President Trump presented his controversial Gaza plan during a press conference with Netanyahu in Washington. The results revealed a surge in popularity for Likud, which now stands at 24 seats, while Itamar Ben-Gvir's party, Otzma Yehudit, secured nine seats. This increase in support signals a boost in Netanyahu's position and his coalition’s strength in Israeli politics.
In contrast, the opposition bloc has experienced a decline. Benny Gantz’s National Unity Party lost two seats, falling to 17, and the Democrats lost one seat, dropping to 12. The poll’s findings highlight a significant shift in voter sentiment, with Netanyahu’s coalition rising in prominence following Trump’s announcement.
Regarding the potential implementation of Trump’s Gaza plan, nearly half of Israelis (47%) expressed belief that the plan could be realized, largely driven by the overwhelming majority of coalition voters (78%) who are optimistic about its success. On the other hand, 38% of Israelis, especially voters from Arab parties and 58% of opposition supporters, believe the plan is unlikely to materialize.
The survey also touched upon the ongoing hostage deal. Around 40% of Israelis are optimistic about its completion, an increase from 36% last week. However, 29% remain doubtful, and 31% are unsure. The poll revealed a clear divide: coalition voters are more hopeful about the deal's success (48% in favor), while opposition voters are split evenly between optimism and pessimism (36% on each side).
These findings illustrate a shift in political dynamics within Israel, with Netanyahu’s coalition gaining strength in the wake of Trump’s plan for Gaza, while the opposition struggles to maintain momentum.
