Maj. Shahar Netanel Buzaglo Killed in Gaza on Eve of Rosh Hashanah

IDF Maj. Shahar Netanel Buzaglo, 27, from Migdal HaEmek, was killed in Gaza on the eve of the holiday. Tributes honor his courage, leadership, and devotion.

The IDF has cleared for publication that on Monday evening, the eve of the holiday, Maj. Shahar Netanel Buzaglo, 27, from Migdal HaEmek, was killed in combat in Gaza. Buzaglo served as a company commander in Battalion 77 of the 7th Armored Brigade, “Storm from the Golan.”

“Shahar gave everything he had for the state,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement, adding that the military has notified his family and will continue to support them.

The Municipality of Migdal HaEmek issued a statement of mourning: "Migdal HaEmek grieves the loss of one of its finest sons. Maj. Shahar Netanel Buzaglo was a figure of exemplary devotion, leadership, and love of the land. He acted with supreme courage for the security of Israel and stood on the front lines of its defense. He leaves behind a legacy of bravery and commitment. In these painful days, as our hearts break, it is important to remember his heroism and his noble soul."

Mayor Yaki Ben Haim also paid tribute: "We are facing a profound loss of a man who gave everything for the state. Maj. Shahar Netanel Buzaglo fell in the struggle for Israel’s security, leaving a legacy of dedication, leadership, and courage. As mayor, I extend deep condolences to his family, his friends, and to all of us, the residents of Migdal HaEmek. May his memory be blessed."
