In a video message to mark Rosh Hashanah, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended his new year greetings, addressing "Jewish brothers and sisters" and "supporters of Israel around the world."

Netanyahu began by acknowledging what he described as a "rising tide of antisemitism in many countries" as the Jewish new year begins. He offered a message of reassurance to Jews everywhere, stating, "you are not alone. Israel will always be your home."

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to Israel’s military, calling its soldiers the "shield of our nation." He said the people of Israel and Jewish communities worldwide "stand behind you, cherish your service and embrace you and your families."

Looking to the coming year, Netanyahu said his government would continue to

"strengthen Israel's security, grow our economy, nurture our society and preserve the eternal values of our people."

He also expressed a hope for the return of the hostages still being held, praying that the new year would see them "bring home this year, soon, all our hostages."

Netanyahu concluded his message with a wish for the expansion of "the circle of peace" and a blessing from "Jerusalem, the undivided eternal capital of the Jewish people."
