BREAKING Chaos in Tel Aviv: Multiple Casualties Reported in Horrific Double-Impact Accident
A horrific accident unfolded on Tel Aviv's bustling Dizengoff Street when a bus struck high-voltage power lines after a tree collapsed onto the vehicle, leaving one person dead and several others fighting for their lives.

A catastrophic traffic accident paralyzed central Tel Aviv on Monday after a public bus collided with high-voltage power lines immediately after a large tree collapsed onto the vehicle. The double-impact disaster occurred on the iconic and densely populated Dizengoff Street, sending shockwaves through the commercial heart of the city. First responders rushed to the scene to discover a chaotic environment filled with live electrical wires, shattered glass, and severely trapped passengers, confirming that at least one person has died and several others have sustained critical injuries.
The sequence of the accident began when a massive urban tree unexpectedly uprooted and crashed down directly onto the roof of the transit bus as it was navigating its regular route. The physical impact of the heavy timber forced the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then veered sharply into structural electrical infrastructure along the sidewalk. The collision severed high-voltage cables, which fell across the crushed frame of the bus, trapping the occupants inside and creating an immediate electrocution hazard for both victims and rescue teams.
Emergency medical personnel from Magen David Adom and local fire crews quickly established a safety perimeter to isolate the live electrical currents before initiating extraction protocols. Paramedics inside the perimeter began performing desperate CPR and resuscitation maneuvers on a 15-year-old girl who was listed in critical condition with severe multi-system trauma. Despite the immediate medical interventions on the asphalt, authorities later confirmed that one individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the impact.
At least three additional passengers were successfully extricated from the wreckage and rushed to the nearby Ichilov Medical Center at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. Hospital spokespersons reported that these victims are currently being treated in the trauma unit for severe injuries, with conditions ranging from critical to serious. Two other commuters sustained moderate injuries, bringing the total casualty count to at least six individuals affected by the sudden structural collapse and subsequent crash.
The Tel Aviv District Police immediately closed off large sections of Dizengoff Street and surrounding traffic corridors to allow heavy engineering equipment to remove the fallen tree and secure the loose electrical lines. Municipal engineers and representatives from the Israel Electric Corporation were summoned to the scene to cut the power grid to the block, as the live wires continued to spark against the asphalt, complicating the recovery efforts. Passersby and local shopkeepers described the sound of the initial impact as resembling a large explosion that immediately gridlocked afternoon commerce.
A formal investigation has been launched by municipal authorities and traffic safety investigators to determine why the tree collapsed and whether recent weather patterns or administrative oversight contributed to the root failure. Investigators are also reviewing the bus's dashcam footage and local security grids to piece together the exact timeline of the double impact. As municipal crews continue the arduous process of clearing the block, the tragedy has focused immediate public attention on the safety protocols surrounding urban forestry and infrastructure maintenance in the nation's most populated coastal hub.

UPDATE:
The serious bus crash in central Tel Aviv on Dizengoff Street has left 11 people injured and caused major power outages in the area after two buses collided, bringing down a tree and electrical lines. According to updated reports, a Dan Route 5 bus crashed into the back of a Route 62 bus, causing the second bus to slam into a tree and a utility pole. Power cables then collapsed onto the street and the buses, creating a dangerous scene for passengers and pedestrians. Emergency crews from Magen David Adom and fire and rescue services rushed to the scene, where at least one person was trapped beneath a bus and the driver of one of the buses was trapped inside an electrified driver’s cabin during rescue operations.
Among the injured was an 11-year-old girl who was evacuated in critical condition while undergoing resuscitation efforts. A 76-year-old pedestrian who became trapped under a bus was rescued in serious and unstable condition and taken to Ichilov Hospital. Additional casualties included a 49-year-old woman in serious condition, a 39-year-old man in moderate condition with a back injury, and seven others with minor injuries. Witnesses described hearing a loud impact before seeing one bus crash into another, followed by the collapse of the tree and power lines as panicked passengers fled the area. Police said the incident is currently being investigated as a traffic accident, but authorities are not ruling out other possibilities, including a criminal or terror-related incident, as investigators continue examining the scene, the buses, and questioning the driver.
