Shlomo Filber, a political and media analyst, offered his assessment Wednesday on Galei Yisrael radio of what the political map will look like immediately after the elections.
Filber opened by revealing behind-the-scenes conversations: "I've met with party leaders from the other side of the political map (I won't name names) who told me: 'The pollster from Channel X or Channel Y showed us different numbers in the room than what he showed on screen, and they favored the right.' For example, in the previous elections they said: 'They showed us in the room that they had 61, but it wasn't reflected on screen.'"
He continued: "From the moment the protest against the reform began, we saw a drop of nearly ten mandates in all the polls for the right-wing bloc. They returned to the 50-seat line after Operation 'Iron Swords' and since then they've been trying to maintain it by any means possible. When Likud goes up, they bring down Smotrich; when Smotrich goes up, they bring down the haredi parties, and so on. They're managing to perform a very elegant virtuoso act there to maintain the 50-seat line."
