The Jerusalem Municipality issued an urgent clarification to the public following false reports that spread on social media and WhatsApp groups in recent hours.
According to the municipality's statement, reports claiming that public shelters have been opened and that the alert level in the capital has been raised are entirely false and constitute fake news.
Jerusalem Municipality officials are calling on city residents and Israeli citizens in general to act responsibly, to refrain from spreading unverified information that creates unnecessary frustration and anxiety, and to rely solely on official announcements from the municipality and the Home Front Command.
