A 66-year-old man collapsed while voting in Eilat on Tuesday and was pronounced dead at Yoseftal Medical Center after extended resuscitation efforts, the hospital announced.

The man was brought to the emergency room by Magen David Adom paramedics intubated and sedated after collapsing at the polling station, according to a statement from the Clalit-affiliated medical center.

Medical teams performed advanced and extended resuscitation procedures, but were forced to pronounce his death following a severe cardiac event.

The incident occurred on a day of high turnout, with elevated voting rates reported in the chareidi sector and a surge in Arab-sector participation.

"The management of Yoseftal Medical Center and the medical teams share in the deep sorrow of the family," the hospital said.

Earlier in the day, a 94-year-old man died in Ramat Gan after collapsing on Hachayil Street immediately after voting in the elections for the 26th Knesset.

The deceased, Ramat Gan resident Yisrael Kreis, had been driven to the polling station by his daughter, who told Ynet that "he voted for Eisenkot. When we came back, as soon as he got out of the car he collapsed and died at the entrance to the building."

According to the details released, the man had arrived at the Ramat Gan polling station to exercise his democratic right and participate in the elections. After finishing his vote, he collapsed on Hachayil Street and lost consciousness.
