Israel Elections 2026

Winter's party: 80,000 votes, zero seats

Shlomo Filber, who ran Channel 14's exit poll, says Amcha Yisrael burned roughly 80,000 right-wing votes by failing to cross the threshold

Shlomo Filber, the pollster and analyst who ran Channel 14's exit poll on election night, has published a stark analysis of the vote loss in the national camp following the run by the Amcha Yisrael party.

According to Filber's estimate, party chairman Aluf Mishne (res.) Ofer Winter burned approximately 80,000 right-wing votes, votes that went to waste and will not translate into Knesset seats, after the list failed to cross the electoral threshold.

The exit poll drama: the battle over the threshold

Filber's assessment follows the Channel 14 exit poll data released when the polls closed, which showed the right-wing bloc standing at 60 seats. On election night, Filber also addressed the chances of Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu party crossing the threshold, and made clear that the field data pointed to significant weakness.

"To tell the truth, Lieberman is below the threshold," Filber said. "Out of caution we gave him 4 seats, but if in the end he doesn't pass, the right-wing bloc reaches 62 seats."

Channel 14 exit poll results

According to the full exit poll results published on Channel 14:

Likud, led by Binyamin Netanyahu – 30 seats

Yashar, led by Gadi Eisenkot – 19 seats

Yachad, led by Naftali Bennett – 11 seats

Joint List – 10 seats

Shas – 9 seats

Democrats, led by Yair Golan – 9 seats

Ra'am – 7 seats

Religious Zionism and Zehut – 7 seats

Otzma Yehudit, led by Itamar Ben-Gvir – 7 seats

United Torah Judaism – 7 seats

Yisrael Beiteinu, led by Avigdor Lieberman – 4 seats

The data shows that the burning of Winter's 80,000 votes is what is currently preventing the national camp from securing the required majority decisively, and that the final decision on the identity of the government depends on the actual results and the counting of the ballots.
