As vote counting wraps up and political tensions mount, a new drama is unfolding at the Central Elections Committee. According to Channel 12 reporter Dafna Liel, all outgoing coalition members serving on the committee have filed an urgent petition demanding an emergency hearing on "suspicions of harm to election integrity."

The demand for an urgent hearing comes despite the firm position of Central Elections Committee chairman, Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg, who stated earlier that voting and counting procedures were conducted properly and with full transparency.

Political pressure as certification nears

The joint petition by outgoing coalition representatives comes at the height of political tension and ahead of the publication of official results and their submission to the President.

At this stage, it has not been announced when the hearing will take place or whether committee chairman Solberg will grant the request, but the move reflects the considerable nervousness prevailing among the parties in the days following the closing of the polls.
