As political contacts intensify and the change bloc begins drafting its first legislative moves, the Joint List is setting dramatic terms for its support. According to Kan 11's Yaara Shapira, the Arab party is expected to demand the chairmanship of one of the Knesset's senior committees, Finance, Constitution or Education, in return for providing a safety net and backing the bloc's votes in the plenum.
The demand marks a sharp shift in the party's approach to parliamentary power-sharing, with a clear message that the era of accepting minor roles is over.
Senior figures in the Joint List say they expect treatment proportional to their electoral weight, similar to the parliamentary gains secured by the chareidi parties in recent Knessets.
