Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General, Eden Bar-Tal, formally reprimanded Spain's Chargé d'Affaires, Francisca Pedros, in response to a disturbing antisemitic display in Spain, where an effigy of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was publicly destroyed through gunfire and explosives.
Israeli officials characterized the display as a shocking escalation of public hatred. The Ministry warned that such incidents are part of a broader, alarming surge in global antisemitism.
This trend intensified during the "Swords of Iron" conflict with Hamas and has reached unprecedented levels as Israel's campaign against Iran continues to escalate.
Diplomatic sources emphasize that the failure to condemn such violent imagery risks further normalizing targeted attacks against Jewish and Israeli symbols worldwide.
