British authorities have officially designated a stabbing attack in north London as a terrorist incident following the injury of two Jewish men in the Golders Green neighborhood. The attack, which took place near a local synagogue, saw a lone assailant lie in wait before lunging at two passersby, ages 76 and 34. While both victims received immediate medical attention from Hatzalah volunteers, reports indicate that the older victim remains in serious condition while the younger man is currently stable. This event is the latest in a series of violent acts targeting the Jewish community in the United Kingdom, coming just weeks after an arson attack destroyed four Hatzola ambulances in the same area.

According to the SITE Intelligence Group, responsibility for the attack has been claimed by Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya, also known as HAYI. This organization, which is widely believed to have strong ties to the Iranian regime, stated that one of its "lone wolves" carried out the assault specifically targeting people they described as "Zionists." HAYI has become increasingly active across Europe in recent months, claiming responsibility for multiple operations against Jewish targets as part of a broader campaign of intimidation. British security services are currently investigating the extent of the group's network within the country and whether the attacker received direct logistical support or was merely inspired by their rhetoric.

A significantly worse tragedy was prevented by the rapid intervention of Shomrim volunteers, a local community safety patrol. Upon witnessing the terrorist running through the streets with a blade, the volunteers pursued and tackled the man to the ground without waiting for armed police to arrive. Their actions allowed authorities to take the suspect into custody immediately and prevented further casualties in the crowded residential area. Community leaders have expressed deep concern over the surge in antisemitic incidents, noting that the frequency of physical assaults, vandalism, and arson has reached levels not seen in decades. The Metropolitan Police have increased patrols in Jewish neighborhoods across London as the investigation into HAYI’s activities continues.
