The IDF announced that it killed a Hamas Nukhba terrorist who took part in the October 7 abductions from Kibbutz Nir Oz and later helped hold Israeli hostages in captivity, in a strike in southern Gaza on Thursday.
According to the military, the terrorist infiltrated Nir Oz during the massacre and participated in the abduction of Israeli civilians, including Alexander Dancyg. In the months that followed, he helped guard several hostages held in southern Gaza, among them Nimrod Cohen.
He was one of three Nukhba terrorists the IDF said it killed in Gaza over the past week.
In a separate strike in northern Gaza on Friday, the military killed Omar Awadallah, a Nukhba platoon commander, and Moataz Mahmoud Mohammed Al-Nimr, a Nukhba terrorist.
The IDF said both men had advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians throughout the war, and particularly in recent weeks. It added that they had worked to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire, and that the strikes were carried out to remove the threat they posed.
The military said it took steps before the strikes to reduce harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
