After a day: Netanyahu remembered to eulogize the late Shabtai Shavit

24 hours later, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu eulogized former Mossad chief Shabtai Shavit, who passed away on Tuesday.

In the statement issued by Netanyahu, it was written: "I send my condolences to the family of Shabtai Shavit of blessed memory. Despite our deep differences of opinion, I have always appreciated his important service and his contribution to the security of Israel."

As reported, yesterday (Tuesday), former Mossad chief Shabtai Shavit passed away at the age of 84 during a private vacation in Italy. He is survived by his wife and three children. It's worth noting that Shavit had complex relations with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, including mutual criticism. In an interview with the Maariv newspaper in 2019, he criticized Likud voters, saying, "My battle is not with Smotrich, but with Likud under Netanyahu's leadership. His voters are people without knowledge, without understanding. His political base consists of people whose normative threshold is at ground level." In response, Netanyahu said, "There is no limit to the arrogance of the left towards Likud voters."
