An emotional event took place last night after the NBA game between Washington and Atlanta, as dozens of Israelis and members of the local Jewish community in attendance started spontaneously singing the national anthem, "Hatikvah." Israeli star Deni Avdija joined them, draped in the Israeli flag.

Throughout the entire game, Israeli fans from Atlanta cheered for Avdija with shouts of "Am Yisrael Chai" (The people of Israel live), and at the end of the game, the Israeli player approached and took photos with them. "It's been a long time since I got so emotional," Avdija wrote in a story he posted on his Instagram account.

In the game itself, Avdija recorded a season-high with 22 points, along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in 24 minutes on the court. However, Washington lost to Atlanta, with the game ending in a score of 130:121 in favor of the home team.
