A family in Melbourne, Australia, encountered an unusual shipping error when preparing for their daughter's school event. The parents had ordered a Mary Poppins costume for their 10-year-old to wear in a school parade, but the package that arrived contained something entirely different: a Kim Jong Un costume, complete with the black suit associated with the North Korean leader.
The frustrated mother contacted the costume company, writing: "You sent me the wrong costume! My daughter needed a Mary Poppins costume for book week, and you sent a Kim Jong Un costume."
The company explained that a "simple but unfortunate human error" had occurred when two address labels were accidentally switched at the warehouse. They immediately packed a replacement Mary Poppins costume and rushed it out, hoping it would arrive in time for the school event.
The story took an additional twist when the company revealed that another customer had ordered the Kim Jong Un costume and was on his way to collect his package to check whether he had mistakenly received the Mary Poppins outfit. "If so, we're prepared to send him a new Kim Jong Un mask," the company's CEO stated.
