A routine vacation dinner turned into a public confrontation when Israeli tourists at a restaurant in Limone sul Garda, a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Garda in northern Italy, were subjected to an antisemitic verbal assault by their waiter.

According to a report on N12, the Israeli family and other Jewish diners made a standard request: the password for the restaurant's Wi-Fi network. Instead of providing the information, the waiter seized the opportunity to launch into a tirade.

In front of other patrons, he shouted at the Israeli guests: "You're animals, you murder children."

The unprovoked attack, openly antisemitic and anti-Israel in nature, stunned the tourists who had come to northern Italy for a peaceful holiday, only to find themselves targets of ideological hostility in what should have been a welcoming public space.

The shock turned to outrage when restaurant management not only failed to intervene but actively sided with their employee. Rather than apologizing to the customers or reprimanding the waiter for crossing every professional and ethical line, the owners chose silence in the face of incitement. They then escalated the situation by calling local police to remove the Israeli diners from the premises. The responding officers, by contrast, conducted themselves professionally and later expressed regret to the Israelis for the distressing experience they had endured at the establishment.

Following the incident, the targeted tourists moved quickly to warn others. They posted detailed alerts in Facebook groups and online communities for Israelis traveling in northern Italy, including a photograph of the waiter, cautioning fellow vacationers to avoid the restaurant. Formal complaints were also filed with all relevant authorities in an effort to hold the business accountable.

This episode is far from isolated. It joins a disturbing and ongoing pattern of hostile incidents targeting Israelis and Jews throughout Italy in recent months, raising deep concern among local Jewish communities and Israeli travelers alike.

Just last July, a troubling document circulated across the country calling on citizens and activists to actively monitor, gather information on, and report the presence of Israelis and "Zionists" at businesses, tourist sites, and various locations. The distribution of the document, which the Union of Italian Jewish Communities condemned as "a serious escalation in antisemitism," was accompanied by calls to act against what the distributors termed "Zionist neo-colonization."
