Dor Alon, one of Israel's major fuel station chains, disclosed to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Tuesday that employees embezzled approximately 40 million shekels (roughly $11 million) over the past two years. The systematic scheme, which primarily occurred in the Sharon and Shfela regions of central Israel, went undetected despite the company's internal oversight mechanisms.
The company, controlled by businessman Moti Ben Moshe, acted swiftly following the discovery. Management terminated the employment of those involved, retained an external investigation firm to conduct a comprehensive inquiry, and filed a formal police complaint against the suspects.
