Elderly Couple Found Dead in Jordan Valley Kibbutz; Police Investigate Murder-Suicide

On the evening of Sunday, May 25, a man and a woman, both approximately 60 years old, were discovered lifeless in their home at the Ashdot Yaakov Kibbutz in the Jordan Valley Regional Council, in what Israeli police suspect may be a murder-suicide, according to Ynet. Maor Sarga, an MDA motorcycle unit paramedic, recounted the scene: “We arrived quickly and saw a man and a woman in their 60s lying unconscious, without a pulse or breath. There was nothing left for us to do but declare their deaths at the scene.” Police have launched a criminal investigation, stating, “The background is criminal, and the circumstances are under examination.” Preliminary findings suggest the incident may involve a homicide followed by suicide, though no official motive or relationship between the victims has been disclosed. Forensic teams are examining the scene for evidence, including the suspected firearm involved, to clarify the sequence of events.
