Smoking Gun Reveals Covert Tactics
Terrorist’s Diary Found: Exclusive Log Reveals Hamas Use of Civilian Sites, UN Infrastructure
The IDF recovered the personal diary of a Hamas platoon commander in Gaza, which confirms the terrorists' strategic exploitation of civilian sites like schools and the systematic theft of resources from UN and hospital infrastructure.

In a critical intelligence find, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) discovered the personal diary of a Hamas platoon commander in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, which provides unfiltered, firsthand documentation of the terrorist organization's activities and their systematic exploitation of civilian and humanitarian infrastructure during the ground maneuver.
The handwritten materials, penned by the terrorist commander, identified as Khaled Abu Akram, expose how Hamas actively weaponizes civilian sites and steals resources from international agencies like the UN.
Weaponizing Schools and Hospitals
The diary offers stark evidence of the deep integration of terrorist activity within civilian life. Abu Akram documented the use of schools and other public buildings for military purposes, even after they were targeted by the IDF.
In an entry from May 30, 2024, he wrote: "I went with Abu Saleh (a platoon commander from another company in the area) to prepare a new ambush at the Hani Naim school, after the shafts located there were bombed and the previous ambush was destroyed."
In a disturbing entry from November of the same year, the commander detailed the theft of essential utilities from a major medical facility:
"A few days ago, we ran an electric cable from the hospital (likely Shifa Hospital, in Gaza City) to our house, to operate our well."
After determining the power was too weak, the terrorists escalated the theft, as documented by Abu Akram: "We thought the electricity might be weak, so we used the hospital’s electricity. The water rose, but the flow was weak, so we brought an engine, we ran it and the water rose properly." This is further proof that the terrorist organization is exploiting humanitarian and civilian infrastructure to maintain its operations and control.
Stealing UN Resources and IDF Munitions
The commander’s log also reveals Hamas’s practice of stealing supplies from the UN's relief agency (UNRWA) and repurposing unexploded Israeli munitions for attacks.
In another August entry, the platoon commander described how his unit deployed cameras and prepared various explosive devices, including the use of war remnants. He also specifically mentioned: "In addition, we took the batteries from the Agency clinic (UNRWA), we took the solar panels, and we prepared the water well."
In a July entry, the terrorist detailed the use of unexploded ordnance from the Israeli Air Force (IAF) for an ambush: "I went to the school, the (IDF) bulldozer started destroying the structure at the school. It was 3:00 in the morning, an F16 missile was planted at the school, but the cameras broke. When the tank was over the missile, they began preparations [to activate it]."
The recovered diary offers an invaluable, unvarnished glimpse into the terrorists' day-to-day routine, their tactical maneuvers against IDF forces, and the calculated use of civilian cover to sustain their presence and attacks within Gaza.
