Million Man Rally
Sefardi Rabbi Orders: “Even Soldiers Must Attend the Anti-Draft Rally Today”
Rabbi Binyamin Hotza issues a strict directive calling all, including soldiers, to attend the Million-Man Rally in Jerusalem to support Torah scholars and declare a Kiddush Hashem.

The Sefardi Rabbi, Rabbi Binyamin Hotza, issued a strict directive Thursday morning, stating that soldiers are also required to attend the Million-Man Rally in support of Torah scholars, which will take place at the entrance to Jerusalem.
Speaking on Kol Barama radio, Rabbi Hotza said: “Today is an election day, a day of Kiddush Hashem. When you vote, you declare and shout. Who do you belong to? I call on all householders, not the yeshiva students, no need to even talk to them. Householders listening to me in Be’er Sheva or Tiberias, listen carefully, even if it costs you a day’s wages. You will not regret it, because today we declare that anyone opposing religion and Torah, I am not exaggerating.
“Today we go to Jerusalem and declare, we belong, ‘the voter of Torah and Moses his servant.’ No one is exempt from attending. I saw that Rabbi Dov Landau, Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, and other rabbis have all said to come ‘even at the risk of one’s life.’ It costs money, transportation may be lacking, or there may be transportation. I tell you, even those in favor of the draft, I speak seriously, I teach in IDF bases, also soldiers should attend. You must come and say: we support the Torah world, the children of Torah, we need the Torah students.
“This world, this state, cannot exist, there is no security, no economy without Torah scholars. There is no exemption, even for financial expense. I say this, and forgive me if I speak strongly, I rule on this: it is an absolute obligation, a Kiddush Hashem, a public declaration. No one is exempt. Everyone must come and recite Psalms. No shouting, no throwing things, no cursing, nothing. Just reciting Psalms, and the entire world sees and watches.”
Rabbi Hotza added: “I heard from several prominent rabbis I know from the National Religious community that they are calling to enlist. They say openly: attendance at this place is mandatory.”
The rabbi also said he will bring his own children: “So that children can come and see what Kiddush Hashem is, what Israel is, what the Torah world is. Who is like your people Israel? Whoever does not come, I tell you, they will regret it.”
