Tehran answers Trump

Araghchi Warns Trump Over Netanyahu Backing

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told President Donald Trump that Iran has "unfinished jobs too" and accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of driving America into another war after Trump endorsed him ahead of Israel's October 27 election.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned US President Donald Trump on Sunday that Tehran has "unfinished jobs too." He also took aim at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, nine days before Israelis vote in the October 27 Knesset election.

As JTA reported, Araghchi's message came after Trump used a Truth Social post earlier Sunday to endorse Netanyahu for another term.

Arutz Sheva reported that Araghchi posted the warning on social media in response to Trump's threats of further action against Iran:

"Last time you wanted to 'finish the job', Iran emerged even stronger. Want to try your luck again? Be our guest. But be careful; we have unfinished jobs too."

He then turned to the Israeli prime minister. "Netanyahu is driving America into another war to stay out of jail, whatever the consequences for Israel-let alone POTUS," Araghchi added.

Trump's endorsement opened with praise for the Israeli leader. "To the Great People of Israel: Bibi Netanyahu has been a Great Warrior Prime Minister, and an even greater Partner for Peace in combatting the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its 51 year old chant, 'Death to Israel, Death to America! We will destroy the Little Satan and the Big Satan,'" Trump wrote.

He described Iran as badly weakened and warned that more could follow. "They have been systematically destroyed, both Militarily and Financially, and unless they change their ways, rapidly, we will soon finish the job," he wrote.

Trump also linked Washington's Iran policy directly to the outcome of Israel's vote. "If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so," he warned.

Netanyahu responded with a video thanking Trump. He stressed their shared commitment to keeping nuclear weapons out of Iran's hands and addressed Americans worried about fuel costs. "If you're worried about today's gas prices, think of what will happen if Iran gets nuclear weapons - something that Donald Trump and I will never allow," he said.

Netanyahu predicted that prices would fall once the Iranian regime "disappears," adding: "gas prices will go down, and how - but only under Trump." He closed by saying the world, America, its allies, Israel and "the Jewish people have been fortunate" to have such a leader.

Last Wednesday, Trump told a campaign rally in Arizona that the war with Iran would end "very soon," Arutz Sheva reported. That same day, military analyst Yossi Yehoshua reported that Israel's security establishment had raised its alert level to the highest point in months. He added that the IDF was preparing to return to full combat operations on the shortest possible notice.

On October 8, Araghchi told the Tasnim news agency that Tehran's talks with Washington were continuing through mediators and that Iran would answer an American proposal within days.
