Qatar Bombshell: Hamas Says Israel is Blocking Hostage Search to Justify New Attack
Qatar amplifies Hamas's accusations that Israel is deliberately obstructing the search for deceased hostages in Gaza, claiming it's a pretext for renewed military action.

Qatar is leveraging its media channels to amplify Hamas’s narrative regarding the stalled recovery of deceased hostages in the Gaza Strip, directly accusing Israel of obstructing search efforts.
The Qatari-owned news network Al Jazeera cited a senior Hamas leader today, who asserted that Israel is purposefully creating difficulties to justify a renewal of military aggression.
Blame Shifted to Israel
The Hamas official issued a public statement claiming that Israel is actively blocking humanitarian access to eastern Gaza City, where the remains of some hostages are believed to be located.
“The occupation refuses to allow the Red Cross and Hamas activists to enter the eastern part of Gaza City to search for the bodies of its prisoners,” the senior Hamas leader stated.
The official dismissed Israeli complaints about the pace of the operation, arguing that the delays are the fault of the IDF, not Hamas.
“The occupation is creating difficulties for the search operations, and its claims regarding Hamas’s slowness are false,” the source asserted, countering recent Israeli reports of Hamas deliberately using the remains for psychological warfare.
Accusation of Pretext for Attack
Furthermore, the Hamas official explicitly accused Israel of using the issue of the remains as a pretext for violating the ceasefire.
“The occupation is making false claims about the bodies to justify its intentions to attack the Gaza Strip,” the leader claimed, urging international intervention to safeguard the truce.
The statement concluded with a direct appeal to the ceasefire mediators, including Qatar itself: “We call on the mediators to take responsibility in this matter.”
The public amplification of this message via Qatar's state-backed network marks a clear diplomatic maneuver, placing additional international pressure on Israel to maintain the current ceasefire terms despite growing internal frustration over Hamas's alleged manipulation of the hostage returns.
