In a powerful letter sent to the men and women of the Israeli Air Force this Wednesday, Major General Tomer Bar provided a detailed update on the status of Operation Lion’s Roar. The Air Force Commander confirmed that for over 100 hours, Israel and its partners have been engaged in continuous, high-intensity combat, achieving a level of coordination with the United States that he described as unprecedented. Most notably, General Bar revealed that elite special units within the Air Force are currently carrying out "extraordinary missions" that go far beyond standard aerial combat. These operations, which he noted could "fire the imagination," are playing a pivotal role in the systematic dismantling of the Iranian regime's military infrastructure. As the IAF establishes total air superiority over the region, Bar signaled that the intense pressure is finally yielding results, with a visible decline in the enemy’s ability to launch rockets and missiles toward the Israeli home front.

The Decapitation of the Regime

The Air Force Commander reflected on the opening moments of the war, describing a historic flight of over 200 Israeli aircraft into the very heart of Iran. This massive strike was not merely a military maneuver but a strategic turning point. "In the opening blow, we eliminated the senior political and security leadership of the Ayatollah regime, led by the murderer Ali Khamenei," Bar wrote. Supported by precise intelligence and world-leading operational capabilities, the IAF targeted the core institutions of the Iranian terror regime, including their command and control headquarters in Tehran. This initial success set the stage for the current phase of the war, where the focus has shifted to the continuous destruction of strategic assets and fire arrays.

While the fighter jets dominate the skies, Bar highlighted the critical role of the Air Force's special units operating on the ground and behind enemy lines. He stated that "the fighters of the special units of the Air Force are carrying out these days extraordinary missions that can fire the imagination". While the specific details of these missions remain classified, they are believed to involve target marking, sabotage, and the direct neutralization of sensitive Iranian weapon systems that cannot be reached by air alone. These "unconventional" operations are part of a broader effort to disrupt the enemy’s launch capabilities and protect Israeli civilians from long-range threats.

Growing Air Superiority and the Fading Enemy

General Bar’s assessment of the current battlefield is one of growing dominance. He noted that the intense pressure applied by the IAF is bearing fruit, with the military identifying a cumulative hit to the enemy's capabilities and an increasing erosion of their strength. "At this time, our air superiority is being established and expanded," Bar asserted. He emphasized that the "hunting" of missile launchers and drones is a 24/7 effort, aimed at stopping the fire toward Israel's rear. By maintaining this relentless pace alongside American partners, the IAF is ensuring that the Iranian military remains in a state of constant retreat. Bar concluded his letter by saluting his subordinates for their courage and determination, promising that the Air Force will not rest until every mission is completed and the threat to the State of Israel is entirely removed.
