Tehran has made clear that political shifts in Jerusalem are meaningless from its perspective: Iranian officials say the identity of the prime minister or cabinet ministers does not alter the regime's fundamental stance toward the State of Israel.
The statement came from Ibrahim Razaei, a senior regime figure and member of the national security committee in the Iranian parliament, who addressed political developments in Israel and the possibility of a change in government. In his remarks, Razaei emphasized that Israel's character and policies do not change according to who leads it.
"The results of elections in the Zionist regime do not affect the cruel nature of this regime," Razaei claimed. "Therefore, Gadi Eisenkot is no different from Netanyahu, the child-killer. Moreover, it is possible that Eisenkot, given his dark past as commander of the Zionist regime's army, will commit even more serious crimes against the Palestinian people and the Lebanese people."
