1. Encounter at Tel Sultan (Philadelphi Corridor):

At approximately 4:00 PM, forces from the IDF’s 143rd Division encountered a terrorist cell in the Tel Sultan neighborhood, near the Philadelphi Corridor. It appears that the troops entered an area rigged with explosives while simultaneously coming under small-arms fire. Four soldiers were injured in this incident: one seriously, one moderately, and two lightly. All wounded soldiers were evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. Following the attack, the Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes on the area to target enemy positions.

2. Encounter at Shuja'iyya:

During an offensive operation about 1.5 kilometers from the Israeli border, IDF forces from the 16th Brigade and undercover officers from the elite Yamas Border Police unit engaged in clearing operations. Around 4:40 PM, while conducting an ambush, the forces engaged terrorists who entered a building. During the firefight, a Yamas officer was tragically killed in action.

3. Rescue Operation and Continued Battles:

Following the initial engagement, a complex and dangerous rescue mission was launched, leading to a series of firefights over the next two hours. At approximately 4:55 PM, a Humvee sent for evacuation was struck by an anti-tank missile, seriously wounding one soldier. Later, at around 5:39 PM, another anti-tank missile struck a tank belonging to the 16th Brigade, resulting in the death of an officer from the 46th Battalion. Terrorists continued firing anti-tank missiles and small-arms at the extraction forces, causing two additional soldiers to suffer moderate injuries.

The IDF and security forces continue their operations under extremely dangerous conditions, as fighting in Gaza intensifies and continues to exact a heavy price.

May the memory of the fallen be a blessing.
