The Israeli military has completed a significant operation in the northern Gaza Strip, resulting in the destruction of a massive array of terrorist infrastructure that threatened the safety of southern Israel. Over the last month, reservists from the Jerusalem Brigade (16), operating under the 252nd Division, conducted a systematic sweep of the territory east of the Yellow Line. Their mission focused on dismantling the complex web of tunnels and weapon depots that Hamas and other terrorist organizations have utilized to wage war and launch rockets. This latest achievement marks the end of the brigade's sixth combat deployment in the region, signaling a transition of power as fresh troops arrive to maintain the security of the sector.

Securing the North and Dismantling the Deep State

During their high stakes activity in the northern sector, the Jerusalem Brigade worked in close coordination with the specialized Yahalom combat engineering unit. Together, they successfully identified and demolished hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites both above and below the surface. These targets included tactical shafts leading to deep tunnel routes, fortified command centers, and hidden caches of weapons. By neutralizing these underground arteries, the IDF has severely limited the ability of terrorists to move undetected or stockpile the rockets used to target Israeli population centers.

The operation was not limited to infrastructure alone. Throughout the month, Israeli forces engaged in direct combat, eliminating dozens of terrorists who posed an immediate threat to the troops on the ground. The brigade’s success in clearing these hazards allowed for a safe and organized handover of the sector to the Alexandria Brigade (3), which will now take responsibility for the area. This rotation ensures that the military remains at a high state of readiness, with rested and prepared forces constantly patrolling the front lines.

Despite the ongoing diplomatic efforts and the current framework of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF has maintained a firm stance on security. Following the conclusion of the mission, military officials emphasized that the Southern Command remains fully deployed in the area according to the established guidelines. The IDF stressed that its forces will continue to operate with full strength to remove any immediate threat, ensuring that the ceasefire is not used as a cover for terrorists to rehabilitate their military capabilities or plan new attacks against the state of Israel.
