Hamas Security Official Mysteriously Killed in Central Gaza 

A senior Hamas internal security officer, Ahmed Zamzam (also spelled Ahmad Zamzam or Zmzum), was killed on Sunday in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, according to statements from the group's Interior Ministry and local reports.Hamas described the incident as an assassination by "armed gunmen," stating that Zamzam, a lieutenant colonel-equivalent in the internal security service and responsible for security in the central camps, was shot at close range.

The ministry added that security forces arrested one suspect and are investigating the event.

Palestinian journalists and some Israeli media outlets speculated that the killing may have been carried out by an Israeli special forces unit operating in the area, marking a rare ground operation deep in central Gaza.
