In a final act of aggression before the scheduled 10 day ceasefire, Hezbollah terrorists launched a significant rocket barrage targeting civilian centers across northern Israel. The attack focused heavily on the cities of Nahariya and Karmiel, resulting in multiple casualties and significant property damage. In Karmiel, a 25 year old man was critically injured by interception debris on Highway 85. Mada medic Maor Berko described the scene, stating that the victim was found "lying on the floor, semi conscious and suffering from severe injuries." He was rushed to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya for life saving treatment.

The barrage consisted of at least 15 rockets, many of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome, though several impacts were recorded. In Nahariya, a 40 year old man sustained moderate shrapnel wounds, and the city saw two vehicles engulfed in flames following a direct hit. The intensity of the fire prompted police to order worshippers at the Tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron to evacuate the site immediately. Additionally, multiple people were treated for severe anxiety as the sirens wailed across the Galilee region, ending the period of relative quiet that had held earlier in the day.

The IDF responded instantly to the aggression, with the Air Force striking the specific launchers used by Hezbollah to carry out the attack. Despite the heavy fire, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit informed the public that there has been no immediate change in Home Front Command instructions, though they warned that the military was prepared for the possibility of continued fire from Lebanese territory. "The IDF is conducting ongoing situational assessments, and as of now there is no change in instructions," the military stated, while emphasizing that they are tracking the developments closely as the midnight deadline for the ceasefire approaches. This final wave of violence serves as a stark reminder of the fragile nature of the truce and the ongoing threat posed by the terrorist organization on the northern border.
