At 8:36 a.m., the IDF confirmed that Iran had launched missiles directly at Israeli territory. “Air defense systems are responding to the threat,” the military said. “Civilians are advised to stay in shelters until further notice.”
Massive explosions were heard throughout central Israel and in Jerusalem, as residents rushed to shelters amid continued alerts. The Home Front Command instructed civilians to remain in protected areas and warned that further sirens were likely.
Shortly after, air raid sirens blared across nearly every region of the country—including the Tel Aviv area, Jerusalem, and the Galilee—as Iran launched approximately 20 ballistic missiles toward Israeli population centers.
Five civilians were lightly wounded in the latest wave of attacks, and a direct hit was reported in Herzliya, where a missile appears to have struck an empty bus.
The IDF said air defense systems intercepted the majority of incoming threats, while bomb disposal units were dispatched to several impact zones. In Herzliya, authorities confirmed a strike on an eight-story residential building, though no casualties were reported at that site.
Police said debris from intercepted munitions fell in parts of the Tel Aviv District, damaging property. No injuries were reported from those impacts, but officers urged the public to avoid the affected areas to allow bomb squads to secure the scenes.
