Israel Katz warns Iran: “What we did to Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah, we’ll do to you”

Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a sharp warning to Iran on Thursday, declaring that Israel will strike the Iranian regime itself if Houthi attacks on Israel continue.

“Israel must be capable of defending itself independently against any threat and enemy,” Katz said. “This has been true in the past and will remain so in the future. The Houthis will suffer heavy blows from Israel if they continue to fire at us. The IDF is prepared for any mission.”

In a pointed message to Tehran, Katz accused Iran of being directly responsible for the Houthi threat. “I warn the Iranian leadership: the era of proxies is over, and the axis of evil has collapsed,” he said. “You bear direct responsibility. What we did to Hezbollah in Beirut, to Hamas in Gaza, to Assad in Damascus, and to the Houthis in Yemen, we will do to you in Tehran.”

He concluded: “We will not allow anyone to harm Israel and those who harm us will be severely harmed.”

The warning came just days after former U.S. President Donald Trump declared an end to American strikes on the Houthis, stating they had promised to halt attacks. “The Houthis told us they don't want to fight anymore,” Trump said. “They said they would no longer attack ships, and we will honor their promise.”

But senior Houthi officials quickly contradicted Trump’s claim, vowing to continue operations against Israel.
