Air Force Needs New Targets

Israel "very close" to striking Iran over Houthis, warns Defense Minister

Israel also said that it would continue to attack the Houthis on its own, whatever arrangement the United States reached with the Houthis.

Defense Minister Israel Katz openly threatened Iran today (Tuesday), saying that Israel is "very close" to striking the country over its support for the Houthi terrorists attacking Israeli ships and its territory with missiles and drones.

Katz said that "the distance the Air Force covered yesterday and today" in attacking the Houthis in Yemen, "and some of the capabilities it used, attest that our planes can operate everywhere in Iran and carry out any mission they receive."

Israel has reportedly been surprised by the American announcement of an end to their bombing campaign in Yemen against the Houthi forces on the grounds that they have "capitulated" to the US and agreed to end all attacks on shipping.

Channel 14 reporter Tamir Morag said that "Israeli political officials were surprised by Trump's statements, both regarding the Houthis and regarding the "big announcement" that the President promised later this week. Speculations range from an expansion of the Abraham Accords to a nuclear agreement with Iran that might be related to the announcement about the Houthis. Bottom line: Jerusalem is also confused at the moment and trying to figure out what the President meant."
