A Lebanese security force told AFP today (Wednesday) that "we have dismantled over 90 percent of the infrastructure in the area south of the Litani," achieving a key objective of the Lebanese state in accordance with UN Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire with Hezbollah.

In an interview granted to Sky News Arabia, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said that the army now controls about 85% of the area south of the Litani River.

Keeping Hezbollah away from the area south of the Litani and on Israel's border was a key objective of both the IDF and the Israeli government. The IDF still maintains a presence at five strategic locations along the border to ensure Hezbollah does not restore its presence there.
