No, Singer Osher Biton Did Not Win 40 Million in the Lottery
Israeli singer Osher Biton went viral after faking a winning 40M shekel Lotto ticket on Instagram, until sharp-eyed followers spotted the editing and he deleted the post

Late Saturday night / early Sunday, Israeli singer Osher Biton briefly became a social media sensation, for all the wrong reasons.
Roughly an hour and a half after the big Lotto draw in which one person won 40 million shekels, Biton posted an Instagram Story showing what appeared to be a winning ticket, sparking a wave of excitement and media reports. In the Story he wrote: “Turns out I’m a millionaire, did I get this right?” and added “Thanking God always.” Many people, including news outlets, initially fell for the post and shared the story.
But a close examination of the image revealed clear signs of editing:
The winning numbers (7, 11, 18, 22, 35, 36 + Strong 4) looked digitally pasted.
Unusual white background around the numbers.
Missing center dot in the zero — a hallmark of official Israeli Lotto tickets.
The Story was deleted shortly afterward.
Osher Biton, 28, from Beit She’an, is married to Esther and father of two. He rose to fame on “The Next Star” (seasons 6-7) and has tens of thousands of followers with hits like “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World.” The post appears to have been a pure publicity stunt. He has not yet responded to media inquiries.
The Real Lotto Draw
In Saturday night’s draw, one lucky winner took home 40 million shekels (single winner, not a double). The real winner has not yet been publicly identified. The story went massively viral with thousands of reactions, some laughing, others disappointed. Comments ranged from “He fooled everyone,” “Cheap publicity,” to “Millionaire for a day.”
Meanwhile, Osher Biton continues his routine, without the 40 million, but with plenty of buzz.
