Religious Zionist rabbis demand the Kabbalist Rabbi Ades retract his shocking Smotrich-Sinwar statement

The elder rabbi of Religious Zionism, Rabbi Yaakov Ariel, reacted sharply to the words of the righteous Kabbalist, Rabbi Yaakov Adas, who compared Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to Yahya Sinwar, yimach shmo.

"We were horrified and shocked to see the words of Rabbi Yaakov Ades, who compared a Jew to the greatest hater of Israel. May God bless him (Smotrich) a man who has a spirit in him, his hands are great for the sake of your people, your inheritance and our holy Torah, Rabbi Bezalel Smotrich, the Minister of Finance." The rabbi added: "We call on Rabbi Ades to retract his statement."

The rabbi's letter was joined by dozens of senior rabbis from the religious Zionist movement, headed by: Rabbi Dov Lior, Rabbi Yehoshua Weizmann, Rosh Yeshiva Hesder Ma'alot, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi of the city of Safed, Rabbi Dudi Dukivich, Rabbi Yitzhar, Rabbi Yitzhak Ben Shachar, Rosh Yeshiva Kedumim, Rabbi Yehoshua Shapira, Rosh Yeshiva of Ramat Gan, Rabbi Elyakim Levanon, Rabbi of Samaria, Rabbi Yaakov Medan, one of the heads of the Har Etzion Yeshiva. Rabbi David Pendel, Rosh Yeshiva of Sderot, Rabbi Chaim Gantz, Rosh Yeshiva of Tel Aviv.

The letter was also signed by: Rabbi Yosef Zvi Rimon, Rabbi of Gush Etzion, Rabbi Micha Halevi, Rabbi of Petah Tikva, Rabbi Chananel Etrog, Rosh Yeshiva of Shavei Hebron, Rabbi Granot, Rosh Yeshiva of Orot Shaul, Rabbi Eyal Greiner, Rosh Yeshiva of Hesder Tefahot, Rabbi Shimon Cohen, Head of the Beit Moriah institutions, and dozens of other rabbis from across the spectrum of religious Zionism.

The Kabbalist Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Ades issued a sharp and unusual attack against the chairman of the Religious Zionist Party, Bezalel Smotrich, who he says incites against Torah students and yeshiva students.

During a shiur delivered last Monday at the Western Wall, the Gaon Ades spoke harshly of incitement against Torah students. "If someone asks me who killed the most Jews in the last war, it's Sinwar and Smotrich," he said.
