Preparing for Escalation in the North: Bomb Shelters Deployed as Far as Yokne'am
For the first time since the beginning of the war, armour-plated shelters have been deployed deep in northern Israel in preparation for a possible response from Iran and Hezbollah. These shelters have been placed near bus stops as far as Yokne'am and other northern towns.

This marks the first time since the war began in both the south and north that the Home Front Command, in collaboration with local authorities and the Israeli police, has deployed shelters as far as Yokne'am, Tivon, and other remote areas. The shelters have been dispersed over the past few days and were installed urgently at locations with limited access to protected spaces, such as bus stations, fuel stations, and other sites.
This is the first instance since the start of the war that shelters have been installed in such distant areas from the northern border, indicating preparation or at least concern about a widespread attack that might come from the northern region and other areas, potentially affecting deeply interior locations in Israel.
According to reports, shelters have been deployed in a number of northern towns in recent days, including places like Kiryat Motzkin, Nesher, and other points in the Haifa area. Moreover, shelters have even been placed as far as Kiryat Tivon, Yokne'am, and other towns far from the border and Haifa area.
Residents in the region have expressed surprise and fear at the deployment of protective measures in their area. "We haven't seen anything like this in nine months," said one resident. "They're installing a shelter in the middle of nowhere near bus stops and roads. We are over ten kilometers even from Haifa. I don't know what they're expecting."
